Six Kelowna chartered accountant students graduated from the CA School of Business program at a ceremony held May 23 in Vancouver.

They include Michael Carter (PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP), Scott King (MacKay LLP), Nicholas Moffatt (MacKay LLP), Nathan Munro (Grant Thornton LLP), Vickie Naumann (BDO Dunwoody LLP) and Nicholas Norrad (MacKay LLP).

Students recognized at the convocation ceremony are eligible for membership in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC this year.

“These students have earned their CA designation by successfully completing an unparalleled and rigorous academic program, focused on business and accounting competencies,” said Richard Rees, FCA and CEO of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia.

“We are very proud of them and they should be proud to have earned the prestigious CA designation,” he said.

To qualify as a CA, students must have a university degree or equivalent, have completed 30 months of practical work experience in a chartered accountancy firm and have completed courses through the CA Qualification Program.

CAs must also pass a comprehensive rigorous national final exam to earn their designation.
