Three car pile-up on Highway 97

Four people suffered injuries in a three-care collision that occurred late Wednesday afternoon in West Kelowna.
The crash at the intersection of Highway 97 and Grizzly Road was initiated by the driver of a southbound red Hyundai who fell asleep behind the wheel, causing the car to drift across the centre line.
The Hyundai collided with a green Subara and then a silver Mercedes, both headed north at the time on Highway 97.
All three drivers and one passenger were taken to Kelowna General Hospital.
A 58-year-old woman from Nelson was driving the Subaru and she had a 32-year-old passenger.
Both had to be extracted from the vehicle by the West Kelowna fire department. Both suffered leg injuries.
The Mercedez was driven by a 23-year- old female. She was taken to KGH with a neck injury.
The driver of the Hyundai Cory Siewert, 22, of Kelowna. He has been charged with driving without due care. He was transported to KGH as well with a neck injury.
Police say all three vehicles suffered major damage.
Police also say that neither alcohol or speed were factors in this collision.
