Fire damages Langley City pawnshop

Damage restricted to small area at rear of building

An early morning fire damaged a small section of the building that houses Jack’s pawn shop on Fraser Highway near 203 Street in Langley City early this (Tuesday) morning.

The damage done by the 1 a.m. blaze appeared to be limited to a corner of the stucco-clad structure, and an entrance door that had to be forced open by firefighters.

No injuries were reported and Jack’s was open for business at its regular time later that morning.

The manager of the shop declined to be interviewed by The Times.

The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined.
