A Surrey RCMP officer has been charged with assaulting two men in an on-duty incident in May.

Const. Imran Saeed, an RCMP officer for two years at the time, was one of several officers responding to a 911 call of a domestic disturbance.

It's alleged Saeed struck the two men during the incident.

The officer has continued to work for the RCMP but was reassigned to administrative duties after the incident.

He makes a first appearance Dec. 8 in Surrey Provincial Court.

An internal Code of Conduct investigation is also continuing.
