Just a little too late

A Salmon Arm woman paid a steep price for leaving her car running while she went back inside to get something.

On Nov. 16 at 7:45 p.m., the woman left her white Dodge Neon running in the driveway of a home in the 2400 block of 30th Street NE. When she came out of the residence, she watched the back of her car drive away. The licence plate on the vehicle is 174 LEG. The suspect in the theft is a white male wearing a green or blue shirt with black gloves.

Cocaine, marijuana seized

A single vehicle went off the road at the corner of Salmon River Road and the Trans-Canada Highway at 7:52 a.m. on Nov. 15. The 1991 Toyota Corolla was being driven by a 29-year-old Salmon Arm man. He was found to be a prohibited driver and, during the arrest, RCMP discovered a quantity of cocaine and marijuana in the vehicle. He is now facing drug charges in addition to the vehicular offences.

More than a dollar

The Dollar and Deal store on Alexander Street was the target of a break-in on Nov. 16. The glass in the north side door was smashed with a rock and a cash float was taken. No merchandise was stolen.

Cash lifted

The Auto Road Self Storage location was broken into on Nov. 14. A side door had the glass smashed out with a rock. A cash float was taken from the business.
