Two of the North Shore mountains are opening earlier than expected with the unprecedented amount of snow falling over the last week.

Cypress Mountain and Grouse Mountain have both announced they will kick off ski and snowboard season tomorrow (Friday, Nov. 13).

Sporting 45 centimetres of snow mid mountain, this is Cypress' third earliest start. Only the Easy Rider Chair will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the other lifts and terrain opening as more snow falls.

Over on Grouse, Paradise Bowl opens from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. While freestyle riders will have a customized "jib park" to ride in.

While also sporting about 45 cm of snow on its summit, Mount Seymour is expecting to open later in November.
