Two snowmobilers were found safe and sound Tuesday morning after a mechanical breakdown forced them to spent Monday night on Frisby Ridge.
The two men were eight to ten kilometres out on the trail when the breakdown occurred, said Buck Corrigan, a manager with Revelstoke Search and Rescue.
The men were able to fix the problem but could not make it all the way back to the road so they spent the night in a remote cabin on the mountain.
The notified search and rescue, who went out this morning and met the two men at around 10 this morning and escorted them back into town.
"They were totally prepared for their night out and they had all the necessary equipment - a spot beacon, radio and stuff like that. We just couldn't make contact with them last night at midnight when we got the word so we activated our search and rescue team this morning," said Corrigan.
The two men, who hail from the coast, were in good condition when found, said Corrigan.
Temperatures in Revelstoke reached a low of 4 C last night.
