911 call leads to drug bust at same address

An unusual 911 call led West Shore RCMP to a drug bust Wednesday.
Officers responded to a call around 1:50 a.m. Nov. 4 after dispatchers heard a scuffle and someone yell out an address before the line was disconnected.
When officers arrived at the duplex on Claude Road in Langford, the occupants explained there had been a disagreement, but that the person who made the call was no longer there.
Officers entered the home to ensure no one was in need of assistance only to find two rooms modified for a marijuana grow op. Police seized multiple plants and drug paraphernalia, including 52 mature marijuana plants, 46 seedlings, 31 clone plants.
BC Hydro was called to shut the power off and Langford bylaw was notified as the City has a bylaw that requires homeowners to pay for emergency responder and city staff time, and cleanup costs associated with grow-ops.
A 28-year-old Langford man was arrested and an arrest warrant is being considered for a 21-year-old Langford man.
