On the first day of its cross-country trek, residents of the Saanich Peninsula roll out the red carpet to welcome the Olympic flame. Huge crowds lined Sidney streets and welcomed the torch at Panorama Recreation Centre and along Wallace Drive and West Saanich Road in Central Saanich.
