RCMP arrest four after fights, break and enters Monday night

Four people were arrested for break and enter and related weapons offenses Monday night.

At about 9:30 p.m., the Williams Lake RCMP received a report that about 10 males armed with knives and machetes were fighting with some people in the 1400 block of Coleman Road.

There, police spoke to an intoxicated resident in the immediate area who advised that the males had kicked open the door to his home and then got into an altercation with him and his friends.

No one was injured in the altercation.

The suspects fled prior to police arrival, but a police dog tracked them to an area near City Hall, where they were located and arrested.

All four suspects are known to police for this type of criminal behaviour.

Police believe the incident was not a random attack and all combatants were known to each other.
