Burnaby arson attacks send two to hospital

Arson attacks on two Metrotown-area apartments sent two people to hospital Monday night.
Just after 10:45 p.m., two suites at 6355 McKay Ave. were damaged by fire, with media reports saying molotov cocktails had been thrown through the windows.
Two occupants of one of the suites were injured and taken to hospital, one with serious, but non-life-threatening burns. The other was treated for minor injuries and then released.
Police are still trying to speak with the victims to determine a possible motive for the attack. How the fire started is part of the ongoing investigation, say Burnaby RCMP. Early indications are that this was a targeted incident against the specific apartments. There is nothing to indicate it was racially motivated.
Police are still very early in the investigation and anyone with information who hasn't already spoken to investigators is asked to call Burnaby RCMP at 604-294-7922 or CrimeStoppers.
