Residents urged to take healthy option

Abbotsford is just one B.C. community participating in an extensive phone health survey, to assess the fitness and activity levels of local citizens.
Starting yesterday (Monday), the survey is collecting anonymous information from randomly selected residents on all forms of activity completed in the past two weeks. The findings in Abbotsford will then be compared to results in other communities.
The survey has been commissioned by the B.C. Recreation and Parks Association, a not-for-profit organization which provided $5,000 for the Abbotsford study.
“We want Abbotsford to be the healthiest community in British Columbia,” said Abbotsford Mayor George Peary.
“Healthy living requires a combination of good nutrition and exercise. We encourage all of our citizens to use our beautiful trails, parks and bikes lanes, and to enjoy everything the great outdoors in Abbotsford has to offer.”
