Missing woman possibly seen in Chilliwack

Candace Shpeley, an Abbotsford woman reported missing in 2007, has been seen several times in Chilliwack, according to reports to police.

"There have been reports of Candace being at the PriceSmart Foods, Wal-Mart and the downtown area of Chilliwack," IHIT spokesman Cpl. Dale Carr said in a news release. "One of the sightings places her getting in a green truck."

Shpeley, who was 23 years old when she went missing on March 30, 2007 is the mother of three young children.

Police investigators initially feared she may have met with foul play.

But the possible sightings suggest to police that she is being held somewhere in the Fraser Valley against her will.

Reports of her sighting in Chilliwack were placed on a Facebook memory page and never reported to police.

Police are asking anyone who has seen Shpeley to call 911 immediately.

Anyone who has information is asked to call the IHIT tip line at 1-877-551-IHIT. Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
