An alleged Kamloops gangster whose relationship with a woman he met on Facebook quickly soured when she discovered he was a criminal won't be sending any more threatening text messages any time soon.

Cailin Park entered guilty pleas Monday to a pair of charges — uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and breach of probation — after harassing the woman over a period of weeks in May.

The 22-year-old was ordered not to contact his victim or possess a cellphone for 18 months, in addition to the 14 days he'll have to spend behind bars.

Park, an alleged member of the Independent Soldiers street gang, met his victim on Facebook in early 2009 and the two met in person soon after.

Crown prosecutor Chris Balison said the woman attempted to end the relationship after she found out he associated with criminals, but Park was persistent.

"He continued to call her and drop by her house," Balison said.

"She felt she may have been in danger."

On May 4, the woman noticed Park standing in the parking lot of her apartment building as she left her home.

As she drove away, she was followed by another vehicle, driven by prolific offender Steve Insua.

Balison said both cars stopped at a red light at the intersection of Summit Drive and Columbia Street, where Park got out of the vehicle driven by Insua to approach her.

He punched her window and she drove away.

Following that confrontation, Park sent her a number of threatening text messages, including one in which he described her as "done like KFC."

Park, who served four months in jail following a firearms conviction in Salmon Arm last summer, was also on a probation order barring him from entering Kamloops city limits.

In addition to the two-week jail sentence and cellphone ban, Park was ordered to take anger management and prohibited from having contact with his victim or Insua.

Park is in custody on an unrelated charge, in which he is alleged to have given a Taser to his roommate and urged him to zap his girlfriend.

Park is due back in court on that charge on July 10.
