Enjoy the sun on Wednesday, as it's about to get very soggy in Chilliwack.

Heavy rain and wind was forecast to begin Wednesday night and last right through to early next week. The wet weather has led organizers of the Rosedale Harvest Brigade to postpone the event for one week.

The community celebration was slated to run through Saturday, in the main area of Rosedale. Almost all of the activities are outside, including hay rides, a market, and family activities.

The new date for the Harvest Brigade is Oct. 22, says Chris Kloot.

Special weather statement:

A special weather statement has been released for this area, as a series of powerful October storms approaches the B.C. coast line.

Environment Canada says the first will hit on Wednesday night and a second storm is expected early Friday. A third will make landfall later on Saturday.

Rainfall will be heavy at times, with a total rainfall accumulations from these storms potentially exceeding 200 mm for West and Inland areas of Vancouver Island. Inner coastal regions may exceed 100 mm with even higher amounts near the mountains.

Strong winds will also accompany these storms and at times may exceed 80 km/h over exposed coastal areas.

They say "at this time it looks like each storm will become more intense. Details concerning the precise storm track is expected to become clearer as time progresses and warnings are likely to be issued for multiple regions throughout the next several days."
