A man is dead after a North Surrey shooting Tuesday night that police believe was a targeted hit.
Around 6:15 p.m. Surrey RCMP responded to a reported shooting at a residence at 10928 Timberland Road, west of Old Yale Road.
Witnesses told CTV News multiple shots were fired in the vicinity of Just Got'Em Wheels & Tires, a home-based used tire and rim business.
The victim, a man in his early 30s, was transported to area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
RCMP have not yet released his name pending notification of family.
Police believe two suspects may have fled the area after the attack and efforts are being made to obtain a description of them and their vehicle.
"Investigators are able to confirm that the deceased and the home where the shooting took place are known to police," RCMP Sgt. Roger Morrow said in a news release. "The dwelling is the victim's place of residence."
"The initial indication is that two individuals may be involved in this incident, however that information has yet to be confirmed," Morrow added.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken control of the case.
Anyone with any information about the shooting is asked to call IHIT at 1-877-543-9217 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
