RCMP confirmed Monday night that 57-year-old Suzanne Bell was located and is "safe and sound."

On Saturday police issued a news release stating Bell had gone missing Aug. 15 and was last seen in Parksville, walking by herself, in the area near Pym Street and Island Highway. By Monday morning, RCMP reported Bell had sent an e-mail to someone and she was believed to be "safe and dry with a computer."

Emergency crews were dispatched over the weekend in search of Bell, who was reported by police to be "currently homeless" and "emotionally distraught."

RCMP say they would like to thank the media and public for their assistance in locating Bell.
