The Burnaby RCMP is looking for the public’s help to identify a suspect in a bank robbery that occurred on June 23.

Late in the afternoon the suspect walked into the bank in the 4900 block of Kingsway and produced a note demanding money. After being given an undisclosed amount of cash he fled on foot south towards Bennett Street.

The suspect was captured on surveillance video.

He’s described as a darker-skinned male, possibly Middle Eastern or South Asian, approximately 50-60 years-old, heavy set and with greying hair. He was wearing a beige baseball cap with “Nixon” written on the front, a beige suit jacket, khaki pants, a beige scarf wrapped around his face and neck, a black undershirt and black shoes.

Witnesses said he spoke with a South Asian accent.

Anyone with information about the suspect or about the robbery should contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
