Coldstream man identified in diving accident

UPDATED: The B.C. Coroner's Service has confirmed the identity of the man who died in Revelstoke Lake Wednesday.

Kody Greveling, 28, from Coldstream, was with a group of friends at the Laforme Creek Bridge, 20 kilometres north of Revelstoke, when he jumped from the bridge deck about 25 metres into the water and failed to resurface.

On Thursday, Greveling was located by an RCMP underwater camera about 20 metres from shore in about 12 metres of water.

Investigators have located the missing man who jumped into Revelstoke Lake.

On Wednesday at 7:33 p.m., the B.C. Ambulance Service and Revelstoke RCMP responded to a report of a missing swimmer. The 28-year-old man from Coldstream  jumped off the Laforme Creek bridge into the lake and never resurfaced.

On Thursday, the RCMP underwater recovery team attended the scene and was successful in locating the individual.

The incident has now become a coroner's service investigation.

The Laforme Creek bridge, 20 kilometres north of the Revelstoke Dam on Highway 23, is estimated to be 80 feet above the water, which is about 50 feet deep at that location.
