VIDEO: Three men trapped in collapsed Surrey trench

Three workers became trapped in a trench on Tuesday afternoon, requiring a tricky rescue in North Surrey.

The three workers were trapped in a trench that collapsed at 104 Avenue and 158 Street at about 12:35 p.m.

Two of them were rescued by co-workers, but the third remained trapped up to his chest.

Surrey fire crews, with technical rescue, performed a rescue about 30 to 40 minutes later.

The man was taken to Royal Columbian Hospital and appears to have no life-threatening injuries.

No word yet on what caused the collapse.
