Motorcyclist injured in crash on West Railway in Abbotsford

A 60-year-old male motorcyclist from Abbotsford was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash with a vehicle on Monday morning in the 2300 block of West Railway Avenue.

The collision took place at about 10:20 a.m., when the motorcyclist – riding a 2008 Harley-Davidson – struck the driver's side door of a 2000 Pontiac driven by a 58-year-old Abbotsford man.

Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald said investigators are still trying to determine how the collision occurred and who might be at fault.

A landing zone for an air ambulance was set up on a grass area in front of the Abbotsford News building, located at the corner of South Fraser Way and Sumas Way, and the motorcyclist was airlifted just before 11:30.
