Rain douses Armstrong's Music in the Park

Rain was the winner at Friday's scheduled Music in the Park free concert at Armstrong's Memorial Park.

The wet weather wiped out scheduled performances by the Aloha Polynesian Dancers and the Legendary Lake Monsters band.

Not to fret: the Legendary Lake Monsters, who will play at the Funtastic A&W Music Festival Sunday night at the Vernon Army Camp, and again at the army camp Canada Day evening, will play a free Music in the Park series concert Monday at 7 p.m. in Memorial Park.

The Aloha dancers have also rescheduled and will now be part of Armstrong's Canada Day festivities in Memorial Park.

Valley First Credit Union is the sponsor of the Armstrong Spallumcheen Music in the Park series, which is slated to run to Aug. 22.

People are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy the music. Dancing is also encouraged.
