Set your clocks back: it's time to lighten up in the evening

It'll be darker in the mornings and lighter in the evenings temporarily, as the valley switches over to Pacific Daylight Savings Time Sunday at 2 a.m.

The clocks go ahead one hour at that time, but it's always a good idea to make the change before going to bed Saturday night so it's done and your schedule isn't thrown out of whack Sunday.

There's always a bit of an adjustment period, just like getting over jetlag, especially for young children. But most make the transition fairly easily in a day or two.

The days just keep getting longer now slowly over time, with a slightly earlier sunrise time and later sunset time until June 21 when it all starts going back the other way again.
