Truck stolen in 2009 found in Lake Country
Lake Country RCMP have recovered a pickup truck reported stolen in 2009.
On Tuesday at 10:40 a.m., an officer conducted a routine traffic stop at Camp and Davidson roads and determined a a white Ford pickup truck had expired insurance.
He also determined that the vehicle identification number did not match the registration papers produced by the male driver.
Further investigation revealed that the truck had been reported stolen from Williams Lake in 2009.
The 30-year-old Lake Country driver and his 26-year-old passenger, also of Lake Country, were taken into custody with out incident. The passenger was later released with out charges.
The 30-year-old man was driving without a valid driver's licence and was subsequently issued multiple fines under the Motor Vehicle Act.
The driver also faces a recommended criminal charge of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
He was later released from police custody on a promise to appear in the Kelowna Law Courts March 31.
