Salmo RCMP received a complaint that tires had been burned in a bonfire at the Salmo Ski Hill on Friday night.

Officers attended the site Saturday morning (December 21) and found the pile still smouldering.

"It appeared as though party goers from the night before used tires to fuel a bonfire," the RCMP reported in a press release.

Police are investigating and hope to identify the individuals that were up in the Ski Hill area that night.

"The burning of tires is detrimental to the environment and tires need to be disposed of properly at local facilities," the release said.
