South Delta police beat
• On Sept. 26, a resident on the 6500-block of Holly Park Drive reported that sometime overnight someone had siphoned 200 litres of diesel fuel from her father’s company vehicle parked in the driveway of their residence. No suspects or witnesses have been identified.
• Police responding to an unrelated incident came across a three car collision on the 6400-block of Ladner Trunk Road at 5 p.m. on Sept. 26. The driver of one of the vehicles collided with a vehicle stopped at a red light which in turn collided with the vehicle in front. The driver who caused the collision was arrested at the scene for impaired driving; he was later released on a promise to appear in court at a future date, and his vehicle was impounded.
• A male and female were observed going through the charity donation bins on the 9600-block of Ladner Trunk Road at 10 a.m. and reported to police. Delta Police located the vehicle of one of the suspects and found it full of second hand clothing. Police supervised the return of all items to the charity bins.
• A cold beer and wine store on the 5400-block of Ladner Trunk Road reported two males had entered the store around 11 p.m. on Sept. 24, with one of them stealing a $40 bottle of rum by concealing it in his pants. Police were provided with video surveillance to disseminate still photos of the suspect for possible identification.
