Crash victim identified
The B.C. Coroners Service has identified a Vancouver Island man as the driver of a U-Haul truck who died in a Labour Day weekend collision near Kamloops.
Courtney Ryan Philipow, 37, most recently of Campbell River, was the driver and sole occupant of a U-Haul moving van that struck the rear of a slow-moving semi-trailer in the northbound right lane of the Coquihalla Highway at about 3:40 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31.
The crash occurred about seven kilometres south of the highway exit to Logan Lake, between Kamloops and Merritt.
