Official RCMP release: Friday, March 15 around 9 a.m. the Cariboo Chilcotin Traffic Services responded to a two vehicle crash on Highway 97 just south of Ten Mile Lake. Upon arriving on scene, emergency service personnel, found that a passenger in one of the vehicles was deceased.
Although it is early in the investigation, police have determined that a tow truck working in the area on an unrelated matter, resulted in the south bound traffic coming to a stop. A passenger in the southbound vehicle succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.
At this time causal factors are not known, however Cariboo Chilcotin Traffic, North District Collision Analyst, and the BC Coroners Service continue to investigate.
Weather and road conditions are less then desirable, and the RCMP are asking the public to drive for the conditions of the road. Anyone who may have witnessed this crash, or has any information pertaining to the collision are asked to call the RCMP or Crime stoppers.
