UPDATED: RCMP say road opened after snow slide on Highway 3 near Christina Lake

A section of Highway 3 near Christina Lake has re-opened after a snow slide earlier today.

According to Sgt. Darryl Little of the RCMP's Kootenay Boundary Regional Detachment, Emcon Services Inc. arrived on the scene, finished the clean up of the slide and the road was open at 3:30 p.m.

The snow slide was reported at about 3 p.m.

"The RCMP received information of a snow slide on Highway 3 near the bottom of Cory Hill approximately 20 kilometres east of Christina Lake, which closed the road in both directions," Little said at the time.

"No vehicles were trapped or damaged during the incident. The slide is estimated at approximately three feet (91 centimetres) deep," he said.
