Group encouraging failed NDP candidate Joanna Larson to run as independent
Since losing the NDP nomination vote to replace outgoing MLA Gary Coons in January, a group is calling on Prince Rupert and District Teachers' Union President Joanna Larson to run as an independent in the upcoming election.
Larson confirmed a group calling themselves the Committee to Elect Joanna Larson for Independent MLA for North Coast Riding have recently approached her, but said at this time she's unsure whether she will run.
"I guess it's one of those things where you never say never," she said.
Attempts to reach the committee by e-mail and telephone were unanswered. Look for more on this story as it develops.
