North Shore Rescue is searching for a lost skier who is trapped in a gulley on Cypress Mountain.

West Vancouver police received a cell phone call around 2:25 this afternoon from the lost skier who strayed from a trail on the mountain. Contact was made with the skier, who isn't injured and is carrying equipment.

North Shore Rescue is urging skiers and snowboarders to stay in designated areas. There is a high risk of avalanche on North Shore mountains at the treeline and below that is expected to continue this weekend as an intense storm rolls in.
