Fernie firefighters get ice rescue certifications

Fernie firefighters were out in the cold today, getting their Ice Rescue Technician certifications.

The firefighters spent 16 hours over two days learning how to rescue people who have fallen through the ice.

Instructor Rob Vance put the Fernie crew through their paces, in and out of a practice pool near the gymkhana grounds on Sixth Avenue.
