Towel-toting man sentenced to four months
A Surrey man arrested last fall wearing a towel over his shoulders after he was seen trying car-door handles in White Rock was sentenced last Friday to four months in jail.
Michael Reeves, 34, pleaded guilty to possession of stolen property Dec. 4 in Surrey Provincial Court.
He was arrested in the 13600-block of Malabar Avenue just after 11 p.m. Nov. 21, when police went to investigate a report of a suspicious person in the area.
Officers who responded located a towel-wearing suspect in a nearby convenience store. The man told police he had the towel because he was on his way to the pool.
In addition to the jail time, Reeves was given one year probation.
