Police investigating early morning Crofton car arson

Early Sunday morning a car burst into flames in Crofton.

By Wednesday morning, police were saying the incident was no accident.

The Crofton fire department rushed to home on Spinnaker Place at 1:15 a.m. Feb. 3 to find a grey 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer in flames. After extinguishing the blaze, the fire department determined it appeared to have been an arson.

Cpl. Jon Stuart of the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP said police are looking for witnesses, or anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area at about the time.

Contact the RCMP at 250-748-5522, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

You do not have to reveal your identity to Crime Stoppers. If you provide information to Crime Stoppers that leads to an arrest or the recovery of stolen property or the seizure of illicit drugs, you could be eligible for a cash award.
