Oyster River communications will be disrupted temporarily

Telus is upgrading its telecommunications equipment serving Oyster River overnight between Jan. 29 and 30.

Cables serving the area were damaged due to falling trees during a storm. Telus temporarily repaired the damage to restore service to customers as quickly as possible.

Telus crews will now replace the cables that were used in the interim.

Telecommunications service to the area must be briefly interrupted to allow Telus crews to complete the required work.

In an effort to minimize the disruption to customers, Telus crews will complete the work overnight between 11

p.m. Jan. 29 and 5 a.m. Jan. 30. Telus anticipates the service disruption will last 15 minutes at some

point during that time period.

During the interruption, all landline and cellular calling to and from Oyster River will be temporarily unavailable.

Local emergency operations personnel have been notified and are taking appropriate measures.
