Police are remaining tight-lipped about a sudden death in a quiet Parksville neighbourhood this week.

Oceanside RCMP Corporal Jesse Foreman said police and the B.C. Ambulance Service were called to the home on Sylvan Crescent just after midnight on Jan. 24.

“There was a sudden death of a man and we are taking every angle and making sure whether or not there was  foul play,” he said. .”

Foreman said the 55-year-old male resident of the home was found unresponsive outside the house and was rushed to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Foreman said the wounds do not appear to have been caused by a firearm, but reserved comment on the exact nature of the man’s injuries.

The investigation into the death is continuing.

“The Oceanside RCMP are taking every investigational step in order to determine the cause of death,” Foreman said. “There will be no further media releases or comment until investigators can determine exactly what transpired.”
