Tseshaht First Nation elects council
The votes were counted in Thursday's Tseshaht First Nation election.
Elected were Boyd Gallic, Les Sam, Williard Gallic, Mike Watts, Dennis Bill, Richard Sam Sr., Luke George, Lisa Fred and Irma Robinson.
Boyd Gallic garnered the highest number of votes at 186.
Serving their second terms on council are Les Sam, Williard Gallic, Mike Watts, Richard Sam Sr. and Dennis Bill.
Elected to their first term on council are Boyd Gallic, Luke George, Lisa Fred and Irma Robinson.
Councillors will serve a four year term.
There were 28 nominees vying for nine positions on council.
The was the tribe's second election since adopting its own custom election code in 2004.
