Woman struck by car while in crosswalk
A 25-year-old woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries on Thursday after she was struck by a vehicle while she was in a crosswalk.
The incident took place at about 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Bourquin Crescent West and Ware Street in Abbotsford.
Witnesses on the scene said the woman had the right of way at the time and was walking with a man, who was also hit by the vehicle but did not suffer serious injuries.
The young male driver of a 2003 Ford Windstar mini van was making a turn off Bourquin to head south on Ware Street and was apparently blinded by the sun.
