Playstation Vita theft from mall store has RCMP seeking public help to find suspect
Police are requesting citizen help find a male suspect who allegedly stole a Playstation Vita computer game from The Source store in Duncan Mall on Dec. 6.
North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP was told by Source staff that a male, who'd been in the store at 6:15 p.m., had taken a Playstation Vita.
Police attended and viewed video surveillance footage of the alleged theft.
"Several items had been scanned and put into bags that the male had selected for purchase," Cpl. Jon Stuart's press release reads.
"But when the associate was distracted and turned away, the male selected the hand-held Playstation Vita, and concealed it in a large plastic bag he had brought with him.
"After the transaction for the items doesn't go through, the male leaves without paying for the PS Vita, indicating he would be back after he goes to the bank."
The male suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 30 to 40 years old, with a thinning hairline of short brown hair, and a large nose. He was wearing a black sweater, jeans and camouflage backpack.
Information about this, or any other crime, can be reported to the RCMP at 250-748-5522, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You do not have to reveal your identity to Crime Stoppers.
