Murdered girl from Hazelton area
THE Kamloops RCMP have confirmed the identity of a homicide victim found Dec. 5 as 16 year-old old Summer Star Elizabeth Krista-Lee Fowler of the Gitanmaax First Nation Band in Hazelton, BC.
The Major Crime Unit of the Kamloops RCMP is investigating the murder.
Fowler was found in an undeveloped area of Guerin Creek in Kamloops.
A detailed forensic autopsy was conducted Dec. 6. The cause of death is not being released.
Investigators have been focusing attention on the 12 hour time line preceding the discovery of the victims’ body.
The deceased had been in Kamloops for an undisclosed period of time and had been in contact with associates in the community.
Police are still asking anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the Guerin Cr. area from Dec. 4 evening to the morning of Dec. 5 to contact the Kamloops RCMP or Crimestoppers.
