Person of interest in fatal hit and run in custody
Police have a person of interest in custody in the fatal hit and run Sunday afternoon in Mission, which killed 65-year-old Elinor Clark.
The 25-year-old Mission man was arrested Wednesday night in connection with an alleged break-in and uttering threats. He has not been charged and his name is not being released at this time.
"It is quite an involved investigation," said Mission RCMP Sgt. Glen Carrier.
Mounties picked up the man after receiving a 911 call.
Clark was walking with her husband on the north shoulder of 14 Avenue near Caribou Street around 4:30 p.m. when she was hit. Police say the suspect vehicle, a blue 2007 Honda Accord, fled the scene and was located about an hour later not far from the accident site.
