Health is the leading priority for Enderby
Enderby residents has identified community and individual health as the top priorities.
Visioning workshop participants, including representatives from the Splatsin First Nation, Safe Communities and Interior Health, identified three solutions for furthering social sustainability with regards to community and individual health.
The first solution involves identifying opportunities to provide community incentives to health practitioners who relocate to Enderby.
The second solution is to provide more opportunities for assisted living to support the growing senior population within Enderby.
The third solution is to better promote and advertise the affordability of housing within the community as residents feel that the affordability of housing within the community can act as a major draw for attracting new residents, particularly young families.
“Through the many public engagement forums that we’ve utilized through this planning process, including the Our Enderby Facebook page, presentations to community groups, and a visioning workshop, the residents have been loud and clear that their health and well-being is a top priority within this community,” stated Enderby Mayor Howie Cyr.
