Meeting with City of Courtenay and Maple Pool Campsite owners 'productive'

Staff and three council members of the City of Courtenay met with the owners of Maple Pool Campsite on Nov. 26.

Representatives assisting the Lins were also present to discuss possible solutions regarding the residential use and occupancy of recreational vehicles on the property at 4685 Headquarters Rd. adjacent to the Tsolum River, the City said Thursday in a joint statement with Maple Pool owners Jin and Dali Lin.

The property, the statement noted, is the subject of legal proceedings commenced by the City.

The meeting was productive, the statement added, "and the Lins’ representatives will meet with City staff in the near future to discuss submitting a complete application for an amendment to the Official Community Plan and the zoning bylaw in respect of the property."
