Classes have been cancelled today at four Vancouver Island University campuses, included Cowichan.

And the same situation is expected to be repeated tomorrow in what is expected to be a two-day walkout.

Pickets are expected starting at 7 a.m. as the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 1858 joins job action planned for several B.C. post-secondary schools in connection with an ongoing contract dispute with the provincial government.

The official notice from the university website is here. More on the dispute here.
