Armed robbers hit jewelry store

Armed robbers struck at a jewelry store in Parksville Wednesday afternoon.

Oceanside RCMP Corporal Jesse Foreman said police received the call at 4:12 p.m. after two men entered the Paulan Jewelers store, brandishing a gun and threatening staff.

“They proceeded to smash a display case and grab several thousand dollars worth of jewelry,” Foreman said. “The suspects then ran from the store and sped off in what has been reported as a dark coloured Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV).”

As an investigational strategy, the Oceanside RCMP will not be releasing witness descriptions of the suspects.

Although shaken up, nobody was injured in the incident.

This investigation is ongoing and police are looking for help from the public.

Anyone with information or who was a witness to this robbery is asked to contact the Oceanside RCMP at 250 248-6111 or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
