Midget Rep’s thankful for support
Well, we have come to an end of October and the support that people have shown for our fight against Breast Cancer has been overwhelming.
As we explained at the beginning of October, our Midget Rep Hockey Team wore pink jerseys and pink laces in their skates in all of their games for the month of October to show their support for the fight against Breast Cancer.
At our first exhibition game here in town on the 3, we had a table set up at the arena and we raised $100.00 in donations and $78.00 form the 50/50, which amounted to $178.00.
Our game in Chase on the 10 showed that people are very aware and very much supportive in this fight. They made up a beautiful basket that was raffled off and they gave us all the proceeds from the raffle, plus the proceeds from their 50/50 which amounted to $230.30.
Then, in Kamloops on the 17, we received a donation of $36.35.
Back to Princeton on the 18 where we got another $39.00 from the 50/50 and $30.00 form donations, for a total of $69.00.
The Sherwood Penticton Vees wore pink ribbons on their jerseys and had pink tape on their hockey sticks for our game against them in Penticton and donated $97.51.
The final event was at our Pub Night at the Brown Bridge Pub which was held on the 24th. We raffled off a pink jersey which brought in $175.00 and another pink jersey at the live auction which made $80.00 for a total of $255.00.
Just before this article was sent into the papers we were told that we had another donation of $500.00 from INVIS—WILKINS & ASSOCIATES.
Altogether the Princeton Midget Rep Hockey Team has raised a total of $1,366.16 which will be sent to The Breast Cancer Society.
At this time we would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone that supported us in the communities that we played in and of course, the people here in Princeton.
