SENIORS SCENE: Drop in for lots of fun

There are lots of drop-in activities at the White Rock Community Centre and Centre for Active Living.

At the WRCC, drop in for a round of mahjong Mondays or social bridge Tuesdays and Fridays, all at 1 p.m. There are also Keep Fit, Yoga, Stretch & Strength and Pilates available through the week.

The Centre for Active Living now has drop-in times for the Cardio Gym Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and evenings; simply pre-purchase your drop in at any Leisure Services location.

Celebrate Canada Day by the Bay at White Rock Beach on July 1. Dynamic performances on the main stage, alluring artisan booths along White Rock’s world famous promenade, and an energetic children’s event at East Beach are the main festivities held throughout the day.

The grand finale is a marvelous fireworks display over Semiahmoo Bay at dusk.

Activities start at 10 a.m.

We are now offering one-day social-media computer instruction for beginner users.

Can you tickle the ivories? Are you available to volunteer at Kent Street on Tuesdays from 2-3:30 p.m. starting in September?

The Kent Street Sing Along group is looking for a volunteer pianist to play for this lively group.

Join our experienced instructors and exercise specialists in the Stretch and Strength 55+ classes running Monday to Friday during the summer. Drop-In passes available, or save money and register for the full course.

Quartette will play at this week’s Kent Street Wednesday Night Dance, from 7:30-10:30pm.

Tickets at the door at 7 p.m. Refreshments served midway, singles and couples 50+ welcome.
