Healing through sound, movement and meditation

Mother Earth begins to open and reveal her beauty once again, shedding her winter cloak of ice and snow. She flows, melts, flowers and produces her brilliant colours with radiance and joy.

“Women are reminded that we are connected to this feminine energy, a reflection of her rhythms, resourcefulness and adaptability,” said Dorianne Kohl, instructor of yoga and the healing arts for more than 35 years.

To welcome spring and encourage new vital energy, Kohl will offer a six-week course for women in Armstrong, beginning Wednesday.

“As many of us have coped with illness and loss of loved ones over the winter months, this is a time for healing, for making whole our bodies, minds, emotions and spirits,” she said.

Kohl’s Sacred Circle classes are an introduction to the Medicine Wheel, offering acceptance and equality to women as participants move through traditional Hatha yoga poses, meditation, deep relaxation and songs.

The course runs Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. at Zion United Church Hall in Armstrong until April 30. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. To register, please call Dorianne at 250-546-9886.
