• Parlez-Nous Français: Improve your French in the library’s after-school French homework and conversation club. French immersion students in elementary or middle school are invited to practise with French-speaking volunteers from high school. Kids should bring homework assignments, or come prepared to work on their French conversation skills. Teen volunteers will earn community service hours. The next session of Parlez-Nous Français will run Fridays, Sept. 20 to Nov. 1, from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. in the Nancy Bennett Room at the Poirier branch. Teens or kids who are interested in joining should e-mail Chris Miller, young adult services librarian, at email@example.com.

• TAG, you’re it: The Teen Advisory Group (TAG) advises and helps plan and develop teen-oriented programs and services at Terry Fox Library. TAG members organize programs for teens, volunteer as reading buddies and help with other library events. The meetings are fun and always include snacks, and TAG membership looks great on resumes and college applications. Volunteer hours are granted for attending monthly meetings and volunteering at library events. Membership is open to all teens and meetings take place on the third Tuesday of each month from 7 to 8:30 p.m. If you’d like to join, attend the next meeting or visit the library to pick up an application.
