Strong home stand for BV Nitehawks

The Beaver Valley Nitehawks have been playing great hockey at home.
They have won their last six in the valley, but lost their edge on the road losing their last four road games.
The home crowd support gets the ‘Hawks fired up, but they need to find their legs on the road if they want to move up in the standings.
“I think it’s a combination of things we have to be doing. Playing physically, aggressively and putting a team on their heels early to set the tone,” said Terry Jones, head coach of the ‘Hawks.
“We can’t stand around the first 10 minutes of a game and give up two or three goals.”
The ‘Hawks played on the road in Grand Forks Oct. 30 losing out 3-2.
They came home for Halloween night grabbing a win off Golden 5-2 in the afternoon outing.
They played Grand Forks again in the Beaver Valley this time Nov. 1 coming out hot at home taking the game 7-2.
They now head to Nelson Nov. 6 and play them again Nov. 8 at home.
“It’s a big series for us and a lot of the games now are going to be big games,” said Jones.
“We’re learning bit by bit here what’s working for us.”
Jones said the team is healthy for the most part with only one player out with the flu.
